前列腺癌為台灣男性十大癌症死亡原因之一,其發生率與死亡率有逐年上升的趨勢。目前治療的方式,依不同的期別包括:開刀、放射治療、荷爾蒙治療和化學藥物治療等,其中主要是以荷爾蒙治療為主。荷爾蒙治療包括睪丸切除,或使用抗雄性素作用之各種藥物。但賀爾蒙治療下的病人預後通常不是很好,並且容易發展成高度轉移性的癌細胞。因此我的研究是希望了解不同轉移性的前列腺癌細胞,對於LPA 造成的淋巴轉移之間的關係,未來可以應用在研發出更有效的抗癌藥物。
